Account & Data Deletion
Last updated: July 3, 2026
You are always in control of your data. Here’s how to delete your Sekana account and any information associated with it.
If you never signed in
Sekana works without an account, and by default all of your data stays on your device. If you never signed in, there is no account or cloud data to delete. Just use “Reset Progress” in the app, or uninstall Sekana, to remove everything from your device.
Option 1: Delete in the app
If you created an account (Sign in with Google or Apple), you can delete it directly:
- Open Sekana and go to Profile → Account.
- Choose Delete account and confirm.
This permanently deletes your account and your cloud backup (see “What gets deleted” below).
Option 2: Request deletion by email
You can also ask us to delete your account and data. Email support@sekana.app from the email address associated with your account (or tell us your sign-in method), with the subject “Delete my account.” We will verify your request and complete deletion within 30 days.
What gets deleted
- Your account: your sign-in identifier held by our authentication provider (Google Firebase Authentication).
- Your cloud backup: the private document storing your learning progress in Firebase Firestore, keyed to your account.
- On-device data: removed when you use “Reset Progress” or uninstall the app.
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Aggregated or anonymized diagnostics that cannot be linked back to you may be retained by our service providers according to their policies.
